Ghost Walk of downtown Chester Friday October 24 2014 6 PM & 7 PM
$10 per person and FREE for ages 12 and under with a paid adult

Friday, October 24th – Ghost Walk with Tally Johnson – 6pm & 7pm, $10 per person

Friday, October 24th & 31st – Ghost Tour of 1914 Jail – Hourly Tours starting at 8pm. last tour starts at Midnight, $15 per person

Saturday, October 25th & November 1st – Ghost Tours – 1914 Jail – Hourly Tours 8pm – 11pm, $15 per person
CAPS Paranormal Tour – Midnight – 2am, $40 per person

April Events at the Chester County Library

April 2014 is Free Fines & Food for Fines month for the Chester County Library.  Any outstanding book or movie that is overdue can be returned and there will be no overdue fine for it. Patrons library account can be credited $1.00 per can to reduce current fines.  If you have questions, please contact the Chester County Library at 803-377-8145.

The AARP will continue tax assistance until April 15th in the rear lower level of the main branch.  Tues & Thurs 9am – 1pm (sign-in by noon).

In observance of the Easter holiday, the Chester County Library will be closed on Monday, April 21st.  During this time, there will be a system upgrade to SCLends.  The online catalog will be inaccessible.  There will be no public access to library account/fine information.

Thursday, April 24, Friday the 25th, & Saturday the 26th will be the Friends of the Library Book sale.  Times coming soon!

December Events at the Library

The Library Board will have their December board meeting on Tuesday, December 10th at 6pm in the Main Branch.  Everyone welcome!

Game Day for December will be cancelled and will resume next year in January.

Canes and Crafts will be Friday, December 20th from 2pm – 4pm.  It is co-sponsored by the Chester County Library and the Chester County 4-H.  FREE for children K5 – 5th grades.  Limit 20 children.  Please register ahead of time at the library by stopping by the front desk or calling 803-377-8145.

Holiday Schedule:  All three locations will be closing early at noon on Monday, December 23rd.  They will also be closed Tuesday – Thursday, December 24, 25, and 26 to celebrate the Holidays.  Lastly, we will have regular hours on New Years Eve, but will be closed for New Years Day, January 1, 2014.

Main Branch hours changed on Friday & Mrs. Claus Story Time Saturday

100 Center Street – Friday, December 6th, the hours of operation for the main branch will be 9:30am to 3:30pm.  The early closing is due to the Chester County Christmas Parade in which our Bookmobile will be a part. 

Then on Saturday, December 7th from 9:00am – 1:00pm, as part of the downtown Christmas in Chester celebration, the main branch will have Mrs. Claus, who will read Christmas stories to good little boys and girls. Each child will receive a free book written by Kathy Gaddy “Do Snakes Wear Shoes”. Books and candy will be given as supplies last.

November Events at the Chester County Library

Thanksgiving will be celebrated on the 28th & 29th of November and all of the locations will be closed that Thursday & Friday. We will be opening back up on Saturday, the 30th.

All library locations will be closed on Monday, November 11 for Veteran’s Day.

November is Fine Free Month at the Chester County Libraries

Attention all library book and movie lovers – look in your nooks and crannies in your house for overdue books, movies, or any other items from the Chester County Library. Bring them back in the month of November and have their fines forgiven. The board of the Chester County Library system has designated November 2013 as Fine Free Month. Any branch of the library will be able to receive any Chester County Library book or movie. Fine forgiveness does not apply to inter-library loan items.  Any questions, please contact your local library location.

The Chester County Library Board will hold their November meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 6pm at the main branch.

National Game Day is the 3rd Saturday of November, so it will be celebrated here on that day as well. This Month its Saturday, November 16th from 10am – 2pm.
